The low-pressure system will move towards the northern region of the Malacca Strait, and there may be thunderstorms in Northern Malaysia!
According to a statement issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Administration on the evening of December 20, the low-pressure system is located at 4.8 degrees north latitude and 93.7 degrees east longitude in the Andaman Sea and will move eastward and will be close to the northern part of the Strait of Malacca.
The Meteorological Department predicts that the low-pressure system has a low probability of causing tropical cyclones. However, the low-pressure system will cause thunderstorms and storm lines (Garis Badai) in several states of Northern Malaysia on December 21 and 22.
