The man went to the bank to withdraw money. Still, after answering the phone, he realized that he’d forgotten his cash at the ATM and returned to retrieve it, only to find that someone else had already taken it. He suspected the man in line behind him.
The 36-year-old Malay contractor reportedly went to the ATM alone at around 4 p.m. the day before.
At that time, the subject was prepared to contribute RM10,000; however, the issue was forced to withdraw a total of RM40,000 in five separate withdrawals of RM2,000 each due to the ATM’s inability to process a single withdrawal of RM10,000.
The person involved in withdrawing the final RM 2,000 answered the phone without thinking and promptly left without any of the money.
He walked to the bank outside the corridor, only to remember that he had forgotten to withdraw the money. So he returned to the ATM moments later, ready to start the funds but discovered they were gone.
The victim went to the police station right away because he thought the man behind him in line did it.
