The M40 middle-income group is disappointed for being ignored by the government!

The government had previously announced that subsidies for eggs, chicken, and bottled cooking oil would be removed in July, letting these commodities to fluctuate with market prices. The government announced an increase in the distribution of BKM assistance to ease the living burden of low-income groups.

On June 22, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri announced that he will increase the distribution of BKM assistance, with B40 low-income families receiving an extra RM100 and B40 low-income singles receiving an extra RM50.

The Prime Minister’s announcement has greatly disappointed the M40 middle-income group. The M40 group shocked the government for cancelling the food allowance and failing to distribute aid to the M40 group, which is equivalent to ignoring the M40 group.

The M40 middle-income group stated that while their income is higher than the B40 group’s, the living expenses they must bear are also higher struggle.

Because the current electricity tariff system will be phased out on June 30, the government will announce electricity tariffs for the second half of July beginning in July. According to some experts, the government may raise the price of household electricity tariffs. However, some experts predict that after raising electricity tariffs, the government will provide cash rebates on specific electricity consumption.
