Here is the latest license plate number for each state in the country.
Malaysia’s license plates are arranged in letters and numbers, and you can tell where the vehicle is registered from the license plate letters. The first letter of the Malaysian license plate represents the state, such as Selangor is B, Johor is J, Penang is P, Kedah is K, Negeri Sembilan is N, Pahang is C, Perak is A, Sabah is S, Sarawak is Q etc.
Then the second and third letters are used as the license plate sequence. For example, the license plate of Johor starts from JTA to JTY, then from JUA to JUY and so on. However, the English letters I, O and Z will not be used in license plates, so as not to be confused with the numbers 1, 0 and 2.
As of February 27, 2022, the latest license plate sequence of Johor is JVB4211, Selangor is BQU4983, Penang is PQD4798, Perak is AMG6754, Negeri Sembilan is NDT4847 and so on. JPJ has also launched a service to purchase license plate numbers online, that is, you can directly browse mySIKAP to purchase license plate numbers.
