According to a message from the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the government will announce the new electricity tariff for 2022 to 2024 soon and the new rate will not increase the burden of the people.
The Minister has already discussed the new tariffs six times in the cabinet meeting and the cabinet has decided on the new rates in the meeting on January 26 and will be officially announced soon.
The government has called for more solar companies to work together to promote solar power programs to reduce CO2 emissions.
In addition, the government announced at the end of December that households affected by the floods will be entitled to a 100% rebate on their electricity bills, which is limited to the December bill and is expected to benefit 72,000 households. This offer is not free of charge, the victims still need to pay the December electricity bill, but the national energy (TNB) will give a rebate (Rebate).
