The government issues aid based on the BKM database, and last year’s recipients automatically receive STR aid!

17/01/2023

Last year’s BKM recipients do not need to update their information and will automatically receive STR in 2023.

According to the Inland Revenue Department (LHDN), the first phase of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) grant will be disbursed to eligible people in phases starting January 17. The family group will receive RM300, while the LHDN will receive RM100 for those without spouses and singles.

The government will disburse the STR grant based on the 2022 BKM grant database. The government will cross-reference with the National Registry’s death database as of December 31, 2022 before selecting the STR recipients to ensure that no deceased person will still receive the payment.

If you received a BKM grant from the government last year, you will automatically receive a STR grant this year. The government is not yet open for people to submit new applications or update their information.

People can also check if they are eligible for STR by visiting https://bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my/ and logging into their STR account. If Tidak Layak Fasa 1 STR or Tiada Rekod appears in the system when checking for STR benefits, you will not be eligible for the first phase of STR benefits.

The STR grant will be disbursed to the beneficiary through a bank transfer. If the beneficiary does not have a bank account, then he/she can go to BSN Bank to receive the payment in cash.
