Nano Retailer, allow housewives to sell groceries at a lower price to increase household income.
The government is investigating the feasibility of implementing Nano Retailer in order to assist B40 low-income groups, particularly housewives, in increasing their income.
Datuk Seri Salahuddin, Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, stated that Nano Retailer will enable housewives to start small businesses selling everyday food items such as rice, sugar, milk, cooking oil, and so on.
The government will assist these small businesses in obtaining goods directly from factories, reducing the demand of middlemen and allowing people to purchase cheaper daily food.
Salahuddin stated that this plan will be implemented in stages, and if the response is positive, it will be expanded to include the entire country. Salahuddin set this goal for implementation within 100 days of taking office as minister.
Salahuddin did not go into detail about how housewives should store their supplies and then sell them.
