The government has not yet announced details of the unemployment benefits

21/10/2021

The government announced in September that the unemployment assistance will be paid to the unemployed in October, but the government has not yet announced the date of payment of unemployment benefits!

In order to ease the burden of the unemployed, the government will give out RM500 unemployment benefits(Bantuan kehilangan Perkejaan) to the unemployed. A total of RM500 million will be allocated by the government for the implementation of these unemployment benefits, which is expected to benefit 1 million people.

The government will distribute the unemployment benefits based on the database of the Employees Provident Fund Board (KWSP) and the Social Insurance Institution (PERKESO). If you are unemployed in 2021 and can be found in the KWSP and PERKESO database, you will receive RM500.

If you are not a member of SOCSO, then you are not eligible for unemployment assistance benefits. Recipients must be between the ages of 21 and 60.

With October already in its third week, the government should be announcing details of the unemployment assistance payouts in the next few days.
