After the raya holiday, when the will be the next public holiday?
The next national holiday is Vesak Day, which falls on Sunday, May 15. This year, Vesak Day is on Sunday, May 15, thus there will be an extra day off on May 16. (Monday). This brings a total of three long weekend holidays when combined with the weekly holiday on May 14 (Saturday).
However, because Sunday is a working day in these four states, residents of Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu would not be able to take advantage of the compensating Vesak holiday on May 16 (Monday). On Monday, May 16, residents of other states will be allowed to take advantage of the Vesak compensatory holiday.
Vesak Day is a national public holiday in Malaysia, so all states can celebrate it on May 15. On May 15, all government departments and schools will be closed.
