The first phase of BKM’s distribution
The BKM will begin disbursing on March 28, with subsidies ranging from RM100 to RM300 for individuals who qualify.
The BKM is a government-run subsidy programme aimed at assisting low- and middle-income people in lowering their living costs. The BKM is divided into three groups: the family group, senior single individuals, and single individuals.
The BKM will be given to both the family and senior singles groups four times, in March, June, September, and December, respectively. For single people, the BKM is available twice a year, in March and September.
In Phase 1, households with a monthly income of not more than RM2,500 will receive RM300 in assistance, according to LHDN. Depending on the number of children, families with a monthly income of RM2,500 to RM5,000 can get RM100, RM200, or RM300.
Single people with a monthly income of less than RM2,500 are eligible for RM200 in Phase 1 and RM150 in Phase 3. From Stage 1 to Stage 4, singles aged 60 and up can receive RM150 in assistance.
