The North-South Expressway’s (PLUS) Eid al-Fitr holiday travel itinerary is separated into two sections: April 29 to May 2 for departures from the Klang Valley, and May 5 to May 9 for departures from other states and return to the Klang Valley.
Between April 29 and May 2, the ideal time to travel from Klang Valley to Perlis, Kedah, Penang, North Perak, and Johor is before 10 a.m. Travelers from the Klang Valley to other states are suggested to leave after 1 p.m.
Between May 5 and May 9, the ideal time to leave is before 9 a.m. if you are returning to the Klang Valley from another state.
Three days before Eid al-Fitr, police predict up to 14 million vehicles on the roadways. On 32 of the country’s main highways, police estimate up to 4.7 million vehicles to be on the road every day.
From April 29 to May 8, police conducted Eid al-Fitr security operations. During this operation, driving in emergency lanes, using a cellphone while driving, disregarding traffic lights, speeding, and overtaking offences will not result in fines, but will be settled in court.
