▼ The 2020 census (Banci) will be conducted in 2 stages:
The first stage: fill in the census questionnaire online (e-Census)
Originally scheduled – 7 July to 6 October 2020
Now – The latest news! Extended until 21 December 2020
The second stage: Officials visit the census (Bersemuka) (for those who have completed the first stage, there will be no official visits!)
Originally scheduled – 7 October to 24 October 2020
Now – The latest news! Postponed! Change to January 20 to February 6, 2021
So there’s no need to be in such a hurry, there’s still plenty of time until the end of the year to slowly fill out the 108 questions in the online questionnaire!
But please pay attention!
Department of Statistic Malaysia reminds that the “Invitation Code” of the online questionnaire must be obtained through formal means, and you cannot fill in the yellow paper on the door yourself.
This is because the small yellow paper (Kad Penyenaraian Tempat Kediaman) will expire, some of the information is not yet updated, so you can’t directly use the above NG DB BP TK as the invitation code! Not everyone can do this!
Therefore, we recommend that ask for the latest exclusive invitation code through the official platform!
How to get an invitation code
▼ Here is a method for you to obtain an online census questionnaire (E-Census):
▼ Step 1: Login to the official website of the Malaysian Census.

▼ Scroll to the bottom once inside, find the small line below and click on “DI SINI / HERE” for the invitation code!
▼ Then you’ll go to the “Request an Invitation Code” page, simply fill in your personal information. (Recommended email to use is Gmail).
▼ After filling in, you will jump to this page! You need to go to the email address you filled in to confirm the verification!
Step 2: Then look for a letter with the title Pengesahan e-mel Pra Pendaftaran e-Census / e-Census Pre Registration Email Verification in your email box. (Go to spam/junk mail if you can’t find it)
▼ Click Verify Here to verify and make sure you applied for it!
▼ E-census will will send you an invitation code within 72 hours after verification.
Step 3: The invitation code received looks like this. There are 4 groups of corresponding numbers, NG / DB / BP / TK.
▼ Then go back to the e-Census official website, and click First-time user to enter the login page.

▼ Fill in the corresponding numbers of the 4 groups of NG / DB / BP / TK on the invitation code into the boxes respectively!
▼ You will receive a one-time 6-digit OTP number in your SMS or email, enter it and verify it!
Congratulations, now you can start answering the online census questionnaire! Just answer these questions and that’s it!
