The Ministry of Education has announced that elementary and secondary schools will have at least 5 days off over the Lunar New Year in 2023. Additional days of leave are possible if the school requests it.
January 20 and January 24 have been designated as special holidays by the Ministry of Education; January 24 is a special school holiday in Johor, Terengganu, Kedah, and Kelantan, while January 20 is a special school holiday in other states.
Schools will be able to take advantage of the Lunar New Year school holiday from January 20 to January 24, including weekends and Sundays. As a result, classes will begin on the fourth day of the lunar new year.
