BKM recipients are likely to receive the BTR automatically in Jan 2023.

The first phase of BTR assistance will be distributed in January, according to Prime Minister Anwar. The family group is eligible for RM300, while the single group is eligible for RM100.

To lessen the impact of the flood on the refugees, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar announced that BTR aid would be distributed ahead of time. Anwar pointed out that the BTR aid was supposed to be released in March, but it has now been pushed back to January.

The Bantuan Tunai Rakyat, or BTR for short, is a cash assistance programme launched by the unity government to help low- and middle-income people get by. The BTR aid will be distributed in stages, with the first stage beginning in January.

The government has yet to announce the conditions for the distribution of BTR assistance funds, as well as which income groups are eligible. Prime Minister Anwar only revealed that the family group will receive RM300, while the single group will receive RM100 in the first phase of the BTR aid programme.

If you look at the previous Malaysian Family Assistance (BKM), families with a monthly income of no more than RM5,000 and singles with a monthly income of no more than RM2,500 are eligible. The BTR aid this time should also be issued with reference to this standard.

The first phase of BTR aid should be distributed based on the previous list of aid recipients, and then the public should be able to update information or submit new applications.

Datuk Seri Anwar Anwar, Prime Minister and Finance Minister, will present the full version of the 2023 Budget in February, and all details of the BTR assistance will be announced at that time. All information is subject to the most recent government announcement.
