Since artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT is nearly unbeatable in exams, news writing, and coding, it comes as no surprise that ChatGPT, author of the famous Japanese manga “One Piece,” has turned to ChatGPT for inspiration.

Based on a report from AFP, Central News Agency said that Eiichiro Oda seemed to be in a creative limbo last month.

One Piece’s official Twitter account staff member posted a video of Eiichiro Oda asking ChatGPT: “Hi, I’m the author. For next week’s One Piece, I don’t know what to do with the story. Can you help me come up with an idea? Please give me a story with an exciting plot.”

Within seconds, ChatGPT makes a storyline in which the main character meets new people and fights new enemies, like the “Shadowkeeper.”

ChatGPT talks about a new storyline with a mysterious tribe, new partners, and a focus on the character of Robin. This makes the reader pay attention to Robin’s smarts and actions.

But Eiichiro Oda immediately said, “Sorry, it’s too boring.” ChatGPT was told to make up a more exciting story.

In the second story ChatGPT made, aliens got on a pirate ship, Rufus fought a witch, and the home planet was rebuilt after the evil spaceship destroyed it.

Eiichiro Oda replied, “Thank you. I’m going to keep drawing in this direction.”

This story about how Monkey D. Luffy and his friends want to find an immense secret treasure and become the king of pirates has fans worldwide interested. Last July 25, it started running again in “Weekly Shōnen Jump.”

One Piece manga started coming out in Japan in 1997, and there are now more than 100 episodes in a single book. This is a world record for sales and a Guinness World Record for the most manga series written by a single author.
