The next school holiday for primary and secondary schools will fall in 2 weeks, which is the Lunar New Year school holiday. Primary and secondary schools will be able to enjoy 5 to 9 days of school holidays during the Lunar New Year.
According to the holiday schedule issued by the Ministry of Education, schools will be entitled to one additional day of school holidays during the Lunar New Year, which will fall on Tuesday, January 24 for Group A counties and Friday, January 20 for Group B counties.
In 2023, the Lunar New Year falls on Sunday, January 22 and Monday, January 23. Therefore, if we add the weekly vacations, additional holidays and personal leave, Chinese primary schools will have a total of 5 days of Lunar New Year holidays from January 20 to January 24.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Education has approved the Chinese Primary School to take a holiday on Wednesday, January 25, which is the fourth day of the first month of the Lunar New Year, so the Chinese Primary School can enjoy a total of 6 days of Lunar New Year holidays.
If schools in Group A want to enjoy a longer Lunar New Year holiday, they can apply for a make-up holiday on Thursday, January 26, so that they can enjoy a 9-day long holiday from January 20 to Saturday, January 28.
In addition, domestic primary and secondary schools only need to attend school for 3 weeks after the Lunar New Year holiday to enjoy another 30 days of end-of-semester holidays. primary and secondary schools in Group A states will enjoy another holiday from February 17 to March 18, 2023, while primary and secondary schools in Group B states will be on holiday from February 18 to March 19, 2023.
