The 2-day Eid al-Fitr holiday has ended, do you know when the next national public holiday falls?
The next public holiday after Eid al-Fitr is Labor Day on May 1, which falls on a Wednesday this year. Labor Day is a legal holiday and employers are required to give their employees the day off.If employees are required to work on this day they must either provide an extra day of compensatory time off or provide the pay they would have received if they had worked on the public holiday.
There is one public holiday limited to designated state affiliates until May 1, which is the Sultan of Terengganu’s Birthday on April 26, when Terengganu will be closed for the day.
In addition, primary and secondary schools across the country will resume classes on April 14th and 15th. The next school holiday for primary and secondary schools falls on May 25 to June 2, the first semester break.
