Terengganu evacuees decrease; Kelantan remains unchanged as of morning.

As of this morning, there was no change in Kelantan and a decrease in Terengganu’s flood evacuee count, with 1,199 victims remaining in both states’ temporary relief centers.

As of 7.30am, the flood situation in Kelantan was still the same as it was last night, with 62 victims from 14 families taking refuge at the relief centers.

Thirty victims from seven families in Pasir Puteh are placed at the relief center in Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Wakaf Raja, while thirty-two more victims from seven families are still housed at the center in Sk Tok Deh, according to the Social Welfare Department (JKM) Info Bencana portal.

 

As of 8am, there were 1,137 flood victims in Terengganu, from 309 families, down from 1,454 people at 10pm yesterday, from 397 families.

432 victims from 114 families are still being housed in eight centers in Kuala Nerus, while 482 victims from 133 families are still being housed in four centers in Kuala Terengganu, according to the Terengganu State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat.

 

In the meantime, 55 individuals from 14 families are still looking for shelter at a relief center in Besut, while 177 victims from 48 families are housed in four relief centers in Marang.

 

The SK Tok Kah relief center in Dungun, which housed six victims from two families last night, is now empty of evacuees. Meanwhile, the water levels of rivers at two main stations namely Parit Utama in Padang Kemunting, Kuala Nerus and Sungai Tumpat in Kampung Baru Kemasik, Kemaman were at the alert level. ― Bernama
