Tangerines are appearing on the market one by one! Prices have not much changes since last year.

16/12/2022

Tangerine prices did not changed significantly since 2021.

Only one month left before the Lunar New Year, it’s once again mandarin orange season! Tangerine prices this year are roughly the same as last year’s.

According to the managing director of the NSK shopping mall, this year’s mandarins are in sufficient supply, so the price will be the same as last year, with no significant price increase. Tangerines were sold out before the new year last year, but that is not expected to happen this year.

The price of 4kg mandarins is expected to be RM18 for the M variety, RM24 for the L variety, and RM28 for the XL variety.

However, because the Chinese New Year in 2023 is two weeks earlier than in previous years and two weeks earlier than the start of spring, this year’s tangerines may not be ripe enough, and the taste may be sour. Of course, this is still dependent on the type of tangerine.

Every Lunar New Year, the market sells imported from China mandarin oranges, peanuts, melon seeds, sugar cakes, and accessories. The recent increase in shipping fees has resulted in an increase in these imported New Year’s goods. Shipping fees have returned to normal levels this year, so the price of this year’s New Year’s Eve goods may be the same as last year.
