The Seoul Police Department has been quoted in the Korean media as indicating that Yoo Ah-in is under investigation for the possible abuse of the anesthetic isoproterenol.
According to the report, Yoo Ah-in took isoproterenol at multiple hospitals. Because of this, he was called in for questioning on the 6th.
Because of the potential for infection and addiction associated with its intravenous form (known as “Propofol” or “Prophol”), the South Korean Food and Drug Safety Division strictly regulates its usage for any purpose other than medicinal. For any other reason than medical, its use is prohibited.
The UAA office of the corporation to Yoo Ah-in belongs issued an apology, saying, “We will assist in all the investigations, so I am sorry for the difficulties.” Yoo Ah-in is currently under investigation by the police regarding the ipecac scandal.
Police have requested various tests, including a body hair investigation, from the National Institute of Scientific Research to determine if Yoo Ah-in is a drug abuser.
