Malaysian Weather Research and Forecasting Model (MET-WRF), European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF) and Global Forecasting System (GFS) models predict that weak winds from all directions will occur in the country from 27 to 30 August, resulting in the formation of thunderstorm clouds in several parts of the country.
Our country will experience thunderstorms and strong winds and storms in the afternoon and evening of 27-30 August. Areas affected include the west coast and inland areas of the West Malaysia Peninsula, central and northern Sarawak, as well as the west coast of Sabah and Labuan.
Public is urged to pay attention to the latest news from the Meteorological Department. People living in areas prone to flash flooding are also urged to be vigilant and be prepared to evacuate if they notice that the water level remains high.
Those who drive are also urged to slow down and avoid roads that are prone to flooding.
