The booster vaccine can be given 3 months after completing the Sinovac vaccination and 6 months after receiving the Pfizer vaccine.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Sarawak Health Department’s Facebook post, booster vaccination can be started for those who are 60 years of age or older. The timing of the booster vaccination will be different for Sinovac and Pfizer vaccine recipients.
If you are a Sinovac vaccine recipient, you can receive a booster shots after you have completed 3 months of the second dose of the vaccine. For Pfizer vaccine recipients, the booster is available after 6 months of the second dose of the vaccine. People in Sarawak are urged to contact their nearest private clinic or government clinic to make an appointment for the booster shots.
Currently, only Pfizer vaccine is approved by the government for use as a booster, so all booster vaccines currently in use are Pfizer vaccines. The government is gradually extending the booster vaccine to all states in Malaysia.
