Signs in the men’s and women’s restrooms are confusing. “I looked at the clouds for 30 minutes.”
Many public restrooms usually have a sign indicating whether they are for women or men, however, a member of the public noticed that the restroom sign at an ice cream store was different from what they usually see, and after taking a photo of it and placing it on social media, it caused netizens to go viral and talk about it.
The sign is believed to have appeared at the ice cream parlor located in Kota Korwinning, Selangor.
According to a photo shared by social media platform X user @danieleskay, it shows an unconventional sign plastered on top of two toilet doors, unlike what most people are used to.
On the left side, the sign has the symbol of a cloud at the top of an isosceles triangle, while the right side similarly has the symbol of a cloud, with the difference being that this symbol is at the top of an inverted isosceles triangle
The difference is that the symbol is at the top of an inverted isosceles triangle.
In addition to the symbols, the door handles of the two toilet doors were also different, one was a knob type and the other was a lever type.
Post Sumi couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of these two peculiar symbols and wrote in the caption, “Ah yes, two genders: ice cream and a cloud on a hill.”
In the comments section, the toilet sign confused netizens, who said it was difficult to identify which symbol represented which gender.
“Life is already full of many challenges and problems, now we have to figure out which door to open before we use the toilet.”
“I’ve been standing in front of the door thinking for 30 minutes just to decide which door I should open.”
One Internet user joked that the men’s restroom is on the left, “because women are always right.”
In fact, like the circles and triangles often used to depict the human head and body, this cloud and triangle symbol has been copied by businesses using stickers on restroom doors.
Thus, an isosceles triangle with a cloud symbol at the top represents a woman, while a cloud symbol at the top of an inverted isosceles triangle represents a man.
