Many companies have already launched a resistance against Russia, and now even Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has joined the sanctions imposed by the major game makers, launching sanctions against Russia one after another, including stopping the sale of its own games and services.
According to reports, SIE has issued sanctions against Russia, including a halt to the sale and delivery of games and hardware to Russia and the suspension of the PS Store, meaning that Russian gamers will not be able to get their hands on new games for the PS platform.
“Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) joins the international community in calling attention to the peace process in Ukraine, and we have suspended all shipments of game software and hardware to Russia, the launch of Gran Turismo 7, and the operation of the Russian PlayStation Store.”
In addition, SIE said that in order to provide humanitarian assistance, Sony Group Corporation has also announced a $2 million donation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Save the Children, an international non-profit organization, to support the victims of the disaster.
