From Nov 23, Shopee sellers can choose whether they want to accept credit card instalments or not.

Merchants are allowed to choose whether they wants to accept credit card instalments or not.

According to a message from Shopee, merchants can choose whether to accept credit card instalments from customers beginning November 23, 2022. If you previously paid with credit card instalments on Shopee, you should pay close attention.

Currently, if your purchases total more than RM500, you can pay by credit card in instalments. However, beginning November 23, Shopee will allow merchants to choose whether to offer credit card instalment checkout services.

To use Shopee’s credit card instalment service, go to the checkout page and select Credit Card Installment, then choose which credit card to use. Then you must decide how many monthly instalments you want, such as six, twelve, or eighteen months.

Before you can use the credit card instalment feature, you must first add a credit card to Shopee. Maybank, Public Bank, and CIMB are the banks that currently accept instalment payments.
