Jaydev Ghosh and Sathi, a couple from Barrackpore in West Bengal, sold their 8-month-old kid for 200,000 rupees (about 1,066 Malaysian Ringgits) on the 24th of this month, according to Indian media sources.
According to the local authorities, the couple did not report their son missing for several days and did not appear concerned. Their neighbor, who had noted the baby’s abduction, noticed them with a brand-new iPhone 14. The couple was experiencing financial troubles, which prompted a neighbor to report the incident to the authorities.
The couple has a 7-year-old daughter in addition to their 8-month-old boy. The police have currently caught Sathi and the woman who purchased the kid, however, Jaydev Ghosh is on the run and the police are making every attempt to locate him.
Following her arrest, Sathi admitted to police that the proceeds from the sale of the child were used to travel around West Bengal and purchase an iPhone 14 to create Instagram Reels videos.
The authorities discovered that the couple attempted to sell their 7-year-old daughter during the subsequent inquiry. The event has been reported to the authorities, and the mother who purchased the kid is facing criminal accusations relating to human trafficking.
