Milk and yogurt are both beverages and foods that everyone consumes on a daily basis, but they are both perishable foods. You should be especially careful when preserving both milk and yogurt to prevent bacterial infections. Here we will share with you 4 ways to preserve cow’s milk products.
1. Ultra High Temperature Treated Milk (UHT Milk)
UHT milk that has not yet been opened can be stored for a long time, but you need to pay attention to the expiration date. As for UHT milk that has been opened and stored indoors, it needs to be consumed within 1 hour, otherwise it may spoil. UHT milk that has been opened but stored in the refrigerator can be stored for up to 3 days, after which consumption is discouraged because of the risk of bacterial infection.
2. Bottled / Boxed Milk
Unopened bottles/boxes of milk will only last up to 5 days, so you must consume it within 5 days of the date of purchase or before the cut-off date, whichever comes first. For bottled/boxed milk that has been opened and stored in the refrigerator, you must consume it within 3 days. Milk that has been opened for more than 3 days may spoil. 3.
3. Yogurt (Yogurt)
Yogurt stored in the refrigerator and not yet opened can be stored for up to 2 weeks, after which time there is a risk of spoilage. Yogurt that has been opened should ideally be consumed within 1 hour, otherwise it may be damaged. If the yogurt is in a large package, you can serve the portion you want to eat and store the rest in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days.
4. Milk powder
Milk powder that has not been opened can be stored for up to 2 years. Milk powder that has been opened can only be stored for up to 3 months. Milk powder that has been brewed should be consumed within 1 hour.
