2022 Chinese New Year of Renyin Tiger Year is approaching! Chinese love to use everything new for Chinese New Year, such as new clothes, new shoes, new furniture, and of course, new banknotes. To this end, major domestic banks will launch new banknote exchange services before the Lunar New Year.

In recent years, various domestic banks have provided new banknotes directly at automatic teller machines (ATMs), and people can directly withdraw new banknotes by simply going to a specific ATM. This not only avoids crowded counters but is also faster and more convenient.

Each bank will have different restrictions and conditions for the withdrawal of new banknotes, some banks only offer new banknotes of RM50, while some banks will offer new banknotes of RM10 and RM50. Some banks limit withdrawals to a maximum of 30 new banknotes at a time.

Maybank generally provides new banknotes one week before Chinese New Year, and OCBC will open special counters on Saturdays for customers to exchange new banknotes. The banks have not yet officially announced the details of the exchange of the new banknotes.

Everyone must follow standard operating procedures (SOP) when going to the bank to withdraw money, such as wearing a mask and maintaining a physical distance of at least one meter from others.
