Several areas of the country will see heavy rains until March!

Heavy rains are expected in several parts of the country until March!

 

According to the report issued by the Meteorological Department of Malaysia, the northeast monsoon started in November last year and will continue until March this year. During this period, the east coast of the peninsula, the western part of Sarawak and the eastern part of Sabah will experience heavy rains until March.

 

Strong winds will blow from the northeast at 10 to 20 kilometers per hour during February and March.

 

Average rainfall in February will range from 0 to 250 mm in the peninsula, 150 to 400 mm in Sarawak, and 300 to 700 mm in Samarahan, Seri Aman, Muzung, Seri Street and Sibu.

 

The average rainfall in Sabah’s west coast and inland areas is between 50 and 100 mm, and will be as high as 400 mm in Kuta, Sandakan and Tawau.

 

As for March and April, the average rainfall in the peninsula will be 50 to 400 mm. 100 to 300 mm in June and July and 150 to 350 mm in Sarawak, the average rainfall in Sabah will be between 100 to 350 mm.
