For those who have a household income less than RM1169, they can apply for the Old Age Allowance (OAA) from the Welfare Department.
According to the official website of JKM, those who have a household income below the poverty line can apply for the Bantuan Warga Emas (BWE) from the Welfare Department and will receive RM500 per month.
The eligibility criteria for the BWE are as follows: Malaysian citizen residing in Malaysia, aged 60 years or above, family income below the poverty line and not residing in an institution under the welfare board.
Eligible persons may apply at the nearest District Welfare Office. After applying, the authorities may visit your home to conduct research and inspections to see if you are eligible.
