Senior citizens can apply for a monthly subsidy of RM500.

The elderly welfare subsidy will be raised from RM350 to RM500 in Budget 2021, according to Finance Minister. This year, 2022, is no exception; all qualifying seniors will receive RM500 per month, up to a total of RM6,000 per year!

The JKM, which is part of the Malaysian Women, Family, and Community Development Authority, administers this assistance, which is only available to the elderly who are 60 years or older in BOT (Bantuan Orang Tua). This funding is only available to qualified seniors who are registered with the Department of Social Welfare (JKM). I’ve included the application information and technique below.

To be considered for this RM500 BOT, you must meet the following criteria:

– The PGK is not exceeded by the household income (up to RM1169).

-Not staying in a JKM-controlled institution, such as a daycare or residential centre that provides free facilities and services, etc.

– If you do not match the above standards but need to apply, you can do so, and the JKM will decide whether to approve or refuse your application based on your circumstances.
