Selangor state government will provide RM1,000 childcare subsidy to working mothers

Working mothers will be able to apply for the RM1,000 subsidy under the Working Women Childcare Subsidy Scheme (MamaKerja) from November 1, 2023, according to a statement issued by Executive Councillor for Selangor Women’s Development and Social Welfare, Cheah Ann Poh.

The MamaKerja is a scheme launched by the Selangor state government to ease the burden of working mothers by providing a one-off subsidy of RM1,000 to 5,000 people who meet the eligibility criteria.

The eligibility criteria for the Child Care Subsidy Scheme for Working Women are as follows: The applicant must be a working woman and must be a Selangor citizen or have resided in Selangor for more than 10 years. The applicant must also be a Selangor voter with a household income of not more than RM8,000 and must have filed a tax return or have a KWSP membership number.

Applicants must also have at least 3 children below 12 years old. Applicants must not be recipients of Asuh Pintar, TUNAS and Bingkas.

Eligible applicants can submit their applications via Selangkah APP and must provide additional documents such as the applicant’s Malaysian Card, spouse’s Malaysian Card, children’s Malaysian Card or birth certificates, the applicant’s salary slip, spouse’s salary slip, CPF statement or EA form for tax return, bank account statement, and Selangor Voter’s Confirmation Document.
