The Selangor State Government will distribute RM1,000 to those affected by the floods!
Selangor State Minister Datuk Seri Amiruddin announced on December 27 at 4pm live that the state government will open applications for flood assistance from December 29 onwards. Families of those who died will receive RM10,000 while each family affected by the floods will receive RM1,000.
The Selangor government has divided the flood victims into three categories, namely those who were housed in official temporary evacuation centers (PPS) during the flood, those who were housed in unofficial temporary evacuation centers during the flood and those who did not leave their homes during the flood.
If you are in categories 1 and 2, i.e., you went to a temporary evacuation center, you do not need to apply for assistance and the state government will pay for it based on the information registered during your stay in the temporary evacuation center.
If you are a victim who has not left the affected residence, you need to apply. The state government will exclude the personnel of each unit from going around the house to obtain the names of the victims and identify the beneficiaries. These victims will need to present their ID cards and obtain a signed recommendation from the local councilor, village chief or city councilor.
The state government will complete the offline registration process before opening the website for those who have not yet registered to register online, in order to avoid duplication of information with offline registration.
