In a video that became extremely popular on Facebook, students at a secondary school in Penang celebrated during the school year’s last semester by destroying school property.
A group of male students started fighting in the classroom, running to the restroom, and one by one kicking the door to the bathroom. Then the group of “destruction kings” came back. They angrily crushed plastic chairs as they entered class, and some even crawled on top of tables and chairs with a folded ceiling fan hanging upside down.
The Penang Education Department will handle this issue in February 2023. According to a document released on the 19th, the gang responsible for damaging school property will pay a penalty and complete “community service” in compensation. The authorities also underlined the importance of stepping up efforts to stop damage in order to stop such actions from happening again and to create a peaceful learning environment.
