The first phase of BKM assistance has been released on March 28, while the second phase will be released in June.
The BKM is a government assistance scheme that aims to alleviate the burden of the low-income group. Families with a monthly income of up to RM5000 and single persons with a monthly income of up to RM2500 are eligible for the payment.
Families earning up to RM2500 per month are eligible to receive RM200 to RM400 in June. Families earning RM2501 to RM5000 per month will receive RM100 in June. Elderly or widowed persons aged 60 years or above with monthly income not exceeding RM5000 will receive RM150 in June.
Single persons aged 21 or above with a monthly income of up to RM2500 will not receive the BKM in June, this group will have to wait until September to receive the remaining RM150.
The government has not yet announced the exact dates of the second, third and fourth phases of payment.
The amount of the second phase of BKM payment
1. Households with monthly income not exceeding RM2500 (59 years old or below)
No children: RM200
1 or 2 children: RM300
3 children or more: RM400
2. Monthly income RM2501-RM5000 family (59 years old or below)
No children: RM100
1. 2 children: RM100
3 children or above: RM100
3. Family with monthly income not exceeding RM2500 (60 years old or above)
No children: RM200
1 or 2 children: RM300
3 children or above: RM400
4. Monthly income RM2501-RM5000 family (60 years old or above)
No children: RM100
1 or 2 children: RM100
3 children or above: RM100
5. Family with monthly income not exceeding RM2500 (Single parent family with children)
1 or 2 children: RM300
3 children or more: RM400
6. Family with monthly income of RM2501-RM5000 (single parent family with children)
1 or 2 children: RM100

7. Widowed/single elderly with monthly income not exceeding RM5000
