According to the Inland Revenue Department (LHDN) website, people can get a tax credit for the next year after having a coronary test. This credit is available for self-purchased RTK kits and PCR Covid-19 tests.
When you purchase your own RTK kit, remember to keep the receipt and also write your name, your spouse’s or your child’s name on the kit and take a picture of it. You will be able to show this evidence in case of an audit by the tax office.
This tax credit is intended to encourage people to self-test regularly to reduce the transmission of the virus.
The coronary disease test tax credit is included in the personal income tax medical examination tax credit and the tax credit applies to coronary disease tests performed on individuals, spouses or children.
In addition, companies that provide RTK rapid screening kits and perform PCR coronary disease testing for their employees can also claim a tax deduction, and there is no cap on this. Companies can also claim tax deductions after paying for vaccinations against pneumonia, purchasing personal protective equipment (PPE), masks, hand rubs and sanitizers for their employees.
