After a busy period in the city, people always want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, find a quiet and serene place to rest and relax, feel the beauty of nature, and find inner peace.
In a recent study led by King’s College London, it was pointed out that “more bird watching” is effective in improving people’s mental health and mood, so it is especially important for modern people! The College and landscape architects J&L Gibbons collaborated with the arts foundation Nomad Projects to develop Urban Mind, an app that collected input from 1,292 participants, resulting in 26,856 evaluations.
During the study, participants were asked three times over the course of one day whether they saw birds or heard the birdsong in their daily routine, followed by a list of mental health questions for them to answer.
The final results of the study show that listening to birdsong or watching birds in flight in daily life can help improve depression and promote mental health! Watching the birds outside the window from time to time will provide some relief, and the feeling of pleasure can last up to 8 hours!
