Rapid test kit sales have skyrocketed, owing to an increase in cases and people returning home for the holidays.

Are you unable to purchase fast test kits as well? Rapid test kits are reported to be sold out in several places.

Before returning home for Chinese New Year or vacation, many people use rapid test kits to see whether they have diagnosed covid. The demand for rapid test kits is more than usual, thanks to the recent start of school and the dramatic surge of omicron cases also.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Trade and Consumer Affairs, the country has an adequate supply of rapid test kits, with the exception of the recent long holidays, when many transportation businesses were closed, resulting in a short supply shortage in the market.

Sales of rapid test kits increased by 300 percent in the week leading up to the Lunar New Year, according to KK Supermarkets. According to 99 Speedy, the previous weekly supply of 200 kits per outlet was apparently insufficient, and each store would now have a minimum supply of 1,000 kits beginning this week.

The Malaysian Medical Devices Authority (MDA) has approved 116 quick test kits as of Jan. 28.
