The latest news! The maximum retail price of the rapid antigen test kit should not exceed RM19.90 and the wholesale price should not exceed RM16.
According to a release by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs(KPDNHEP), the government sets retail and wholesale prices for rapid antigen test kits. The retail price cannot exceed RM19.90 while the wholesale price cannot exceed RM16. The new prices will take effect from September 5, 2021.
Any individual who breaches retail and wholesale ceiling prices can be charged in court and fined up to RM100,000 or jailed for not more than 3 years or both. Individuals can also be directly fined up to RM50,000.
Those who violate the sales ceiling can be taken to court and fined up to RM500,000 or fined up to RM250,000 outright.
The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs also provides various channels for consumers to make complaints. Consumers can call 1800 886 800 or email [email protected] to complain.
