Public Bank has added a new feature to its website that allows users to cancel or temporarily deactivate their bank cards.
According to the official website of Public Bank (PBe), users can cancel or suspend their cards directly through the PBe website. This is one of the efforts made by the bank for cyber security.
If you have an unknown transaction on your card, you can choose to cancel or suspend your card service immediately. If you choose to cancel your ATM Card, it will be immediately invalid and unusable. All regular automatic debit transactions will be cancelled and the user will need to visit the nearest Banco Popular counter to obtain a new card.
If you choose to temporarily deactivate your Credit/Debit Card, the card service will only be temporarily deactivated and you will not be able to use the card for the time being. However, all ZIIP / BT / Flexipay transactions will not be affected. As for regular automatic debit transactions, they will be suspended.
How to cancel or temporarily deactivate your bank card online
Step 1: Visit the PBe website.
Step 2: Click on Cancel Card option.
Step 3: Select Cancel your ATM Card or Deactivate your Credit/Debit Card.
Step 4: Enter your bank card number or ID number.
Step 5: The system will send OTP verification code, you need to enter the relevant verification code.
Step 6: Finish.
