Provided false information when applying for STR assistance? You will be fined or imprisoned!

According to the STR Assistance Questions and Answers issued by the Malaysian Land Revenue Board (LHDN), anyone who provides false information when applying for STR assistance will be fined or imprisoned for up to 3 years.

STR assistance is an assistance program launched by the Solidarity Government. Families with a monthly income of not more than RM5,000 and singles with a monthly income of not more than RM2,500 are eligible to receive STR assistance. Applications for the 2024 STR aid have been opened from November 1, 2023, and will be open throughout the year.

If you apply for STR assistance between November 1 and 30, 2023, you can receive the first phase of assistance as early as February 2024.

If you apply for assistance between December 1, 2023 and February 29, 2024, you will not receive the assistance until April 2024 at the earliest.

If you apply between March 1 and June 30, 2024, you will need to wait until August to receive the aid. If you apply for aid between July 1 and September 30, 2024, you will need to wait until November to receive the aid.
