Proton will unveil the Proton X70 facelift on June 9th!
According to a message sent out by Proton’s Facebook page, Proton will live-stream the launch of the Proton X70 minor facelift via its Facebook page on Thursday, June 9 at 11am. This will be the second minor facelift for the Proton X70 since its release in 2018.
According to the information revealed on the Internet, the minor revision of the Proton X70 will be equipped with newly designed 19-inch wheels and minor upgrades to the exterior and interior of the car. However, the Proton X70 will not be equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Proton X70 will have a 1.5L three-cylinder TGDi engine, while the Proton X70 is now sold with a 1.5L four-cylinder TGDi engine. Since Malaysian owners prefer four-cylinder engines, the Proton X70 may be available in a twin-engine model, with owners able to choose between a three-cylinder or four-cylinder engine version.
The Proton X70 was officially launched in China in 2018, with the first batch of new cars being sold in the country using a direct import of complete assembly vehicles (CBU) from China. the Proton X70 was launched in 2020 in a locally assembled (CKD) version, when the original six-speed automated (6AT) gearbox was replaced with a seven-speed DCT transmission.
It is worth noting in particular that the slightly revised Proton X70 will definitely not be delivered in June, so owners will have to pay sales tax on the purchase of the car. The lowest version of the Proton X70 may not exceed RM100,000.
