Good news! The third phase of the BKM grant will be released on September 20.
According to the announcement made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, the third phase of BKM assistance will be disbursed from September 20 to 27. Beneficiaries can check their bank accounts from September 20 onwards.
Beneficiaries will receive up to RM900 for BKM in September and up to RM2350 for successful appeals. In total, more than 80,000 people have been successful in their appeals.
The third phase of the BKM grant will cost RM2.2 billion while the fourth phase of the BKM grant is expected to cost RM2.1 billion and will be released in December.
The BKM is a government assistance scheme that aims to alleviate the burden of the low-income group. Families with a monthly income of up to RM5,000 and singles with a monthly income of up to RM2,500 are eligible to receive the BKM.
The third phase of BKM assistance payment amount (to be paid from September 20)
1. Families with monthly income up to RM2500 (59 years old or below)
No children: RM200
1 or 2 children: RM300
3 children or more: RM400
2. Monthly income RM2501-RM5000 family (59 years old or below)
No children: RM100
1. 2 children: RM100
3 children or above: RM100
3. Family with monthly income not exceeding RM2500 (60 years old or above)
No children: RM500
1 or 2 children: RM600
3 children or above: RM700
4. Monthly income RM2501-RM5000 family (60 years old or above)
No children: RM400
1 or 2 children: RM400
3 children or above: RM400
5. Family with monthly income not exceeding RM2500 (Single parent family with children)
1 or 2 children: RM800
3 children or more: RM900
6. Family with monthly income of RM2501-RM5000 (single parent family with children)
1 or 2 children: RM600
3 children or more: RM600
7. Widowed/single elderly with monthly income not exceeding RM5000
Age 60 years or above: RM150
8. Single person with monthly income not more than RM2500
Age 21 or above: RM150
