Prime Minister announced salary increases and aid handouts for civil servants!

31/08/2022

Government has a series of good news for civil servants.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ishmael Sabri announced a pay rise of RM100 for civil servants from Gred 11 to Gred 56, with effect from January 2023.

For example, a civil servant who has received an annual pay rise of RM80 will now receive a pay rise of RM180 from next year after RM100 has been added.

The Prime Minister has also announced a grant of RM700 to civil servants below Gred 56 and RM350 to retired civil servants and uniformed personnel. The payment will be made in January 2023.

Education officers with more than 10 years of service will be granted an additional 5 days of special leave, making a total of 15 days of special leave, which will benefit 500,000 teachers.

The number of days of special leave that civil servants can convert into cash upon retirement has been increased from 160 to 180, as a compensatory measure to make up for the fact that civil servants are too busy to use up their annual leave.
