Prime Minister held a press conference at 5.30pm on March 8 and announced that our country will enter endemic transition phase from 1st April.
During endemic transition phase, people will still be required to wear masks in public area, but shop opening hours will not be restricted anymore. People will be able to continue eating in restaurants after 12am and those restaurants that were previously open 24 hours will be allowed to stay open for 24 hours.
Government will abolish the interstate restriction, which means that people who have not been vaccinated will also be allowed to cross state. MySejahtera scanning will not be required in uncrowded outdoor areas (Kawasan Terbuka), but MySJ Trace will be mandatory in crowded indoor areas.
Prime Minister also announced that national border will be open for quarantine free entry from 1st April 2022, but RT-PCR testing will be required 2 days prior to departure and RTK-Ag testing will be required within 24 hours of entry under the supervision of a health care professional.
