After the primary and secondary schools start in January, they only need to go to school for 15 days, and then they will have a week of the Lunar New Year holiday.

With the outbreak of severe floods in many states in the country, and the facilities of many schools being severely damaged, the Ministry of Education announced that the start of classes would be postponed by one week. Primary and secondary schools in Johor, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah will start classes on January 9th (Sunday), while primary and secondary schools in other states will start classes on January 10th (Monday).

This means that primary and secondary schools can enjoy a one-week Lunar New Year school holiday after classes start on January 9th and 10th and only need three more weeks of class.

According to the 2022 new school year holiday schedule published by the Ministry of Education, schools in Group A states can enjoy additional holidays for the Lunar New Year on January 30 and January 31, and schools in Group B states can enjoy January 31 and February 3.

According to the Lunar New Year school holiday schedule issued by the Ministry of Education, schools in Group A states will start classes on February 3 (Thursday) on the third day of the new year, while schools in Group B states will start on February 4 (Friday) on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year. If the school takes an extra day off on February 3 or 4, this will form a 9-day Lunar New Year holiday.

If group A states take an extra holiday, the Lunar New Year school holiday will be from January 28th to February 5th, and group B states can be from January 29th to February 6th.
