Prices for Gardenia products will be increased in September.
Although Gardenia has not formally announced it, it is believed that Gardenia bread will become more expensive in September.
An announcement making the rounds on the internet claims that starting on September 1, 2022, Gardenia bread prices would rise. This notice is given as of August 29, 2022, which is the following Monday.
Gardenia noted in the notice that while it made every effort to maintain the original price, it was compelled to raise the price of bread as a result of the ongoing rise in the cost of raw ingredients including flour and cooking oil.
The statement making the rounds online states that the 400 grammes of Gardenia Original Classic are available for RM2.55 at wholesale and RM3.00 at retail. The current retail price is RM2.80, which represents a 20-sen price increase.
The wholesale cost of the 600g Gardenia Original Classic Jumbo is RM3.60, while the retail cost is RM4.30. The selling price has increased by 30 sen to RM4.00 at this time.
