POS has been losing RM30M in the first quarter of this year.
Consumers stopped online buying when the government withdrew the blockade order, and POS lost RM30.372 million in the first quarter of this year!
Pos Malaysia (POS) reported a loss of RM30.372 million in the first quarter of 2022, down from a loss of RM46.782 million in the same period last year, according to a performance report.
Since the conclusion of last year, the government has progressively withdrawn the blockade order, and the public has begun to shift from online to physical shop consumption, resulting in a decrease in overall POS package volume.
In the first quarter, POS’s postal business saw a 25% drop in turnover year over year.
Many individuals criticise the POS operating mode and the attitude of the staff since they consistently lose money throughout the year. Many people have experienced negative POS experiences, such as missing or damaged packages, rude counter employees, and so forth.
Charles Brewer, from the United Kingdom, will be the CEO of POS starting in August 2021. Many internet users believe that even a CEO from another country will not be able to reverse POS losses in the short future.
POS is open Monday through Friday, and just half-day on Saturday. On Saturdays, a small number of branches are open 24 hours a day, but public holidays are closed. The majority of POSs close at 5 or 6 p.m.
The loss of POS all year may also be owing to an excess of POS stations, which leads to higher running costs. Other courier firms cannot transport mail or parcels to all corners of Malaysia, but POS can.
