Perodua, Malaysia’s second domestic car company, has announced its results for January to March 2022, with 61,624 new vehicles sold in the first three months of the year, an increase of 6.4% compared to the same period last year.
Perodua called on the government to extend the sales tax exemption so that customers who had placed orders but could not make it by June 30 could continue to benefit from the sales tax exemption. Many customers complained that they had to wait at least six months after placing their orders before they could get their cars, thus missing out on the sales tax exemption.
Perodua is planning to launch an all-new model and two minor variants this year, with sources indicating that the all-new model could be the Alza and the minor variants could be the Axia and Aruz.
