According to Indah Water, people who have been in arrears for more than 2 years will be blacklisted by the CTOS credit reporting agency after Indah Water has submitted their names to them.
People who are blacklisted by CTOS for defaulting on sewage charges may be frustrated to apply for loans in the future.
It is understood that Indalisys will issue a letter from a lawyer to those who have been in arrears for more than 2 years and will be required to pay the arrears within a specific period of time or they will be blacklisted by CTOS.
If a person wants to remove the record of the delinquent sewage charges, he/she will need to pay the delinquent sewage charges and pay a Delist Fee to remove the name.
In addition, sewage charges for the Peninsula and Labuan will be increased from October 1, 2022. The government has not adjusted sewer fees for 28 years.
The individual septic tanks (Tangki Septik Individu) will see an increase from RM2 to RM6 per month to RM7 to RM14 per month. For connected septic tanks (Perkhidmatan Bersambung), the fee will be increased from RM2 to RM8 to RM4 to RM10 per month.
